On Monday 5th September 1983 my friend George Lockyer and myself, Stephen Hawkins set off on Honda 90 motorcycles with the intention of riding overland to Australia for a working holiday. We sold the motorbikes in Northern Greece and continued by public transport across Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and in to India and Nepal. We flew from Madras to Kuala Lumpar in Malaysia, took the train to Singapore. Deciding to return home we took an Aeroflot flight back to Athens, Magic Bus to Paris and arriving back home on 30th January 1984. In Coronavirus lockdown I decided the type up my travel diaries from this trip and to post them, 37 years later, the entries on the same day in 2020. These will start to appear on Friday 4th September 2020.
